Mississippi Brilla FC to Host First of Three Games Against New Orleans Shell Shockers

In four matches last year, New Orleans got the better of Brilla, winning twice in New Orleans and holding Brilla to two draws at Longabaugh Field. Brilla hopes to reverse that trend in 2008. Getting maximum points will help Mississippi challenge for one of the two playoff spots in the division.
Brilla coach, Steve DeCou, is looking forward to his first shot at the Shell Shockers.
“I’ve heard a lot about our games last year,” said DeCou. “Our guys feel like they let points slip away that ultimately kept us out of the playoffs. We need to make sure we take maximum advantage of these next few games, especially the ones at home, if we want to be playing in late July.”
New Orleans comes into Wednesday’s match with a 3-3-2 record, leaving them in 4th place in the division. The Shell Shockers scraped out a 1-0 victory over the Houston Leones on Saturday.
Brilla has a quick turnaround from an exhausting road trip to Laredo, TX and Baton Rouge, LA, where the team played miserably against the Heat, losing 3-0, and lost a narrow 1-0 match to the Capitals giving Brilla a record of 2-4-1.
